The Kiwi Blog Bus was today inspected by the men with all-seeing eyes at VTNZ and was passed for a new Certificate of Fitness – phew!
For the non-kiwis amongst my readers I should explain that this is a six monthly check carried out to ensure your vehicle is safe and road worthy.
It’s not really a problem for many modern cars (although I once had my car fail as I was driving around with a nail stuck in the tyre!) but when you drive a 1981 Japanese bus you do keep your fingers crossed that you get good news.

According to the flag counter on this blog (which I check at least ten times daily and it is a source of constant amazement to me) my latest new visitor is from Greece.
I have never been to Greece but as you may or may not know it is on my bucket list.
It just made me wonder if the person in Greece had their own bucket list with New Zealand on it?
Or even, bizarrely (or not) – travelling around New Zealand in a campervan?
Am I not only living my dream life but that of someone else?
Is there someone in Greece, or Peru, living their own dream life but blogging about having New Zealand on their bucket list?
I must learn not to think too deeply about things like this, especially when I have real work to be doing.
I think this is called procrastination.
Did I tell you last week my latest readers were from Mexico and the Bahamas….
I graduated today.
No cap for my Diploma in Journalism but definitely a gown.
Great fun to wear on what must be one of the windiest days in the Waikato this year!
So in honour of my celebration of success (and because I’ve had little free time to write a new blog post) I am going to flashback to my very first piece of published writing; an article about motorhomes! Read More…
It’s in my nature to ask questions – I’m a journalist and I always want to learn more.
My first survey is now on the Polls/Surveys page (link above).
It will remain there permanently – that way new visitors can also join in the fun!
So, please would you please fill in my little survey?
It’s just 8 easy questions but you have no idea how much you’ll satisfy my natural curiosity!
Please note – no personal information is requested and no data is held on file – this is just me trying to find out more about my readers’ blog desires then I can ask the blog fairy to help grant some wishes!
We cannot get away in the Kiwi Blog Bus at the moment for a variety of reasons:
- Sam is mid-way through painting it. The old thing has been in need of some cosmetic work for a while now and the kind people at VTNZ that allowed it through its last COF warned us that we needed to get rid of some rust before the next test or it just won’t get passed. But… it’s looking good I have to say. (I’ll get some renovation pictures on over the weekend)
- The fifteen-year-old is currently sleeping in it. Read More…
The Kiwi Blog Bus has been nominated for a Versatile Blogger Award by fellow blogger Tammy Robinson from The Year of Wonderful Weekends.
I don’t receive anything shiny to put on the mantelpiece (which is a good job as I don’t have a mantelpiece) but I can inwardly shine and shimmer away with the knowledge that not only is my blog being read, but enjoyed and recommended to others.
It’s great that my family and friends “like” and “share” my blog, but my heart swells to find out that my pictures and words are being applauded and forwarded around the world by people who I don’t even know!
I love writing my blog almost as much as I love the fact that people actually read it! Read More…
Those that read my ramblings a couple of days ago will know that I am currently computer-less after my desktop died a sudden death and got sent off to Mr Warranty Man for a diagnosis.
Mr W.M. has confirmed that said computer is dead (as a door nail) and seeing as it was only two years old I, very fortunately, get sent a replacement.
Hurrah! and more hurrahing! Read More…
The poll is still running on what my readers* would like to see more of on KiwiBlogBus.com.
* My heart swells saying these words – it is amazing to me that my blog has readers.. and followers – especially after such a short time – big thanks to you all. I’m grateful for every comment and appreciative of each follower. Please continue to read (and share) my posts. I am loving being a blogger and have SO much more to share with you!
