The Kiwi Blog Bus and its journeys (and therefore this blog) could not exist without Sam’s wonderful and varied skills.
In the duration of any one trip he may have to wear any of these hats: Driver / Mechanic / Joiner / Bus re-builder / Electrician / Cook / Cleaner / Refuse Man / Lifter of anything heavy / Bike fixer / Playful Dad / Attentive husband / General dogsbody
This is for you Sam 🙂
I graduated today.
No cap for my Diploma in Journalism but definitely a gown.
Great fun to wear on what must be one of the windiest days in the Waikato this year!
So in honour of my celebration of success (and because I’ve had little free time to write a new blog post) I am going to flashback to my very first piece of published writing; an article about motorhomes! Read More…
It’s in my nature to ask questions – I’m a journalist and I always want to learn more.
My first survey is now on the Polls/Surveys page (link above).
It will remain there permanently – that way new visitors can also join in the fun!
So, please would you please fill in my little survey?
It’s just 8 easy questions but you have no idea how much you’ll satisfy my natural curiosity!
Please note – no personal information is requested and no data is held on file – this is just me trying to find out more about my readers’ blog desires then I can ask the blog fairy to help grant some wishes!
We cannot get away in the Kiwi Blog Bus at the moment for a variety of reasons:
- Sam is mid-way through painting it. The old thing has been in need of some cosmetic work for a while now and the kind people at VTNZ that allowed it through its last COF warned us that we needed to get rid of some rust before the next test or it just won’t get passed. But… it’s looking good I have to say. (I’ll get some renovation pictures on over the weekend)
- The fifteen-year-old is currently sleeping in it. Read More…
The Kiwi Blog Bus has been nominated for a Versatile Blogger Award by fellow blogger Tammy Robinson from The Year of Wonderful Weekends.
I don’t receive anything shiny to put on the mantelpiece (which is a good job as I don’t have a mantelpiece) but I can inwardly shine and shimmer away with the knowledge that not only is my blog being read, but enjoyed and recommended to others.
It’s great that my family and friends “like” and “share” my blog, but my heart swells to find out that my pictures and words are being applauded and forwarded around the world by people who I don’t even know!
I love writing my blog almost as much as I love the fact that people actually read it! Read More…
You can buy pretty much anything here at the Motorhome show
Those that read my ramblings a couple of days ago will know that I am currently computer-less after my desktop died a sudden death and got sent off to Mr Warranty Man for a diagnosis.
Mr W.M. has confirmed that said computer is dead (as a door nail) and seeing as it was only two years old I, very fortunately, get sent a replacement.
Hurrah! and more hurrahing! Read More…
One of the joys of travelling in the Kiwi Blog Bus in New Zealand is the ability to freedom camp in some of the most scenic spots you could imagine.
But on the other hand we are sometimes made to feel like criminals.
Freedom camping in New Zealand has received a lot of publicity over the last few years, unfortunately it’s not all good.
